Hi, I’m Surekha Gomez, founder and Principal Consultant of Surekha Gomez HR Consulting Services.

Based in Perth, Western Australia, I’m a wife to Darran and mum to our two daughters, Aviana and Talia. Beyond my family, one of my greatest passions has always been people — understanding what makes workplaces thrive and helping businesses create environments where both their people and their organisation can succeed.

I bring over 20 years of progressive Human Resources experience, having worked across a diverse range of industries, organisations and geographical locations, including Australia, Singapore, the United States, China, India and Sri Lanka. Throughout my career, I have held senior HR leadership and partnering roles, specialising in HR operations, HR strategy, organisational development, employee relations, HR systems and project management.

My experience has taught me that great HR isn't about policies and processes alone. It’s about understanding the business, its people and its challenges, and then creating practical solutions that support both commercial outcomes and a positive employee experience.

I’m passionate about helping organisations build strong foundations — whether that means establishing HR systems and processes, navigating complex people matters, improving performance and capability, supporting organisational change, or developing a people strategy that aligns with where the business wants to go.

My approach is practical, collaborative and tailored. I understand that no two businesses are the same, which is why I take the time to understand your organisation, your people and your goals before recommending solutions. My aim is to make HR feel less complicated and provide business leaders with the confidence that their people practices are compliant, effective and supporting their broader strategy.

My services include workforce planning, recruitment and talent acquisition, onboarding and induction, HR operations and administration, and the implementation of HR policies and procedures. I partner with organisations to build capable teams, streamline HR processes, enhance the employee experience and ensure consistent, compliant people practices that support business growth and operational success.

I provide practical, compliant HR documentation tailored to your business, including employment contracts, workplace policies, procedures, employee handbooks and HR templates.  My services ensure your people practices align with the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards (NES), Modern Awards and applicable Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation
I provide practical and professional support to individuals and businesses navigating Fair Work Commission matters, including unfair dismissal and general protections claims.
My services include case preparation, applications and responses, submissions and supporting documentation, conciliation and settlement support, and representation at Fair Work Commission conferences and hearings where permitted.
With extensive HR and employee relations experience, I provide clear, practical guidance focused on fair process, effective resolution and achieving the best possible outcome.
